During the last week of July, the Holiday Club for 5 – 11 year olds took place, the theme “Going Places”.
This year, due to fewer volunteer helpers, and Covid 19, we decided to limit the number to 50 children, which meant less crowding and more opportunity to engage with the young people.

Lots of activities took place – singing, stories, craftwork, outdoor games, each morning being a journey that Jesus made – to Bethlehem, to the lakeside, up a mountain and the Easter journey, ending with His Resurrection.
Our friend Richard Cole led the lively sessions in the chapel with all age groups and you had to be quick-witted to appreciate his one-liners!
On Wednesday evening, an outdoor BBQ was held at “Dalecot”, the home of Brenda Byrne, with the Lions Club providing the BBQ and ladies-who-bake providing lots of cakes. It was a relaxed way to meet the children’s families and take time for conversations.
